Under a state law that takes effect Jan. 1, 2012, children under age 8 in California must be properly buckled into a car seat thats placed in the vehicles back seat. Previously, state law required that kids use car seats until age 6 or until reaching a weight of 60 pounds.
Children under age 8 are exempt from the new law if theyre at least 4 feet, 9 inches tall.
For each child under 16 who isnt properly secured in a car, either in a car seat or with a seat belt, the parents if theyre in the car or the driver can be fined more than $475 and receive one violation point on their California driving records.

The reason I ask these two things is because a lot of people worry about losing all of their belongings but never do anything about it. What I suggest is that you do something to protect yourself and all of your stuff because in the end that is some of the most important things you have.

You can get everything from your local supermarket these days. The supermarket used to be merely for food and the occasional tipple but these huge companies have now expanded to provide the consumer with everything they could conceivably need. From electrical goods such as TVs and games consoles, to clothes, furniture and toys – supermarkets have pretty much got it all covered.

Note to teen drivers: Your adult counterparts on the road dont think so highly of you.
Eighty-one percent of adult drivers rate teens as average or poor drivers, according to a new survey by Allstate. The same percentage of adult drivers favors banning younger drivers from talking or texting on cellphones.
Other findings:
- 76 percent of adult drivers back a minimum age of 16 to receive a learners permit.
- 69 percent support requiring three stages of licensing for teens.
